All Summer 2022 classes include 6 hours of instructional time. Classes meet once per week for 1.5 hours. Now is your chance to learn French with the Alliance Française!
Cost:
Non-Members: $108/class
*AFSA Members: $96/class
*Membership must be current/in good standing at time of enrollment. If AFSA
membership is lapsed, member will be notified. In order for discount to be extended,
membership must be renewed.
Deadline to enroll and submit payment is May 30, 2022.

French Intro (Newbies/Beginners)

Have you always wanted to study the French language but don’t know where to start? If so, this is the class for you! This 4-week course will get you started on the path to speaking French! In our 1.5 hour/week classes, you will learn the basics of pronunciation, the most common greetings and introductions, ordering food, asking questions, how to talk about your family and pets, your job, the weather, and the basics for getting around town.
Class meets on Zoom. Class will be taught in English & French.
French 102 (Beginners/Advanced Beginners)

Do you feel like you have gotten the basics of French relatively well down, but would like to take your knowledge to the next level? Then this would be the class for you! We will be reviewing the basics, as well as learning the two most common past tenses, the conditional tense, and the simple future tense. We will cover topics such as travel and dining plans, expressing hopes and opinions, medical needs and expressions of self-care.
Class meets on Zoom. Class will be taught in English & French.
French Literature (Intermediate/Advanced)

Do you like short stories that can make you laugh, cry or simply think about life? Would you like to start (or maybe continue) your journey into French literature? Then this course is for you…Anna Gavalda’s series of short stories “Je voudrais que quelqu’un m’attende quelque part” strikes the perfect balance between lighthearted, situational comedy and thought provoking observations in a literary style that is suitable for intermediate to advanced readers and lovers of the French way of life.

Bonjour…Pardonnez-moi…Merci! Are you preparing for your first-ever trip to France? Do you need a crash course in basic expressions to make for a more pleasant travel experience? This is the course for you.
Class will meet in-person at a location near the San Antonio Airport off Hwy 281.

Regions of France (All Levels)

Take a tour of France without ever leaving your home…Each week, will feature a different region (i.e. Ile de France and Center; Northwest/Atlantic coast; Southwest and South; East and Northeast). Discover the best of what these regions have to offer–geographical features, major cities, gastronomical delights, and more…This brief overview is sure to inspire you to pack your bags and help you plan your next (or your first) trip to France.
Class meets on Zoom. Class will be taught using a combination of French and English and is open to all levels.

CANCELLATIONS
The Alliance Française reserves the right to cancel a class if minimum enrollment quotas are not meet. Notifications will be sent to those enrolled by email and/or phone call.
PAYMENT
Payment must be made in full at time of registration, by credit card (via Paypal), or checks mailed to: Alliance Francaise de San Antonio, PO BOX 790064, San Antonio, TX 78279.
WITHDRAWALS
Please take into careful consideration your ability to commit to class schedules before registering/enrolling. In cases of tragedy or unforeseeable events, withdrawal requests are to be submitted in writing to: admin@afsanantonio.org.
– Withdrawals received 7 days prior to the start date of the course: Students will be refunded full tuition, minus a $25 processing fee. Refunds will be processed to the credit card used for payment or issued in the form of a check if payment was made by check.
– Withdrawals received less than 7 days after the start date of the course: Students will be refunded 50% of the tuition paid, minus a $25 processing fee.
– Withdrawals received more than 7 days after the start date of the course: No refund will be issued.
– Please note that absence from class does not constitute notice of withdrawal.
