Regular Courses

This class is for students looking to build a foundation in the French language. Classes are progressive. Absolute beginners work their way up from A1.1 progressing through to A1.6. After A1, students move on to A2, to B1, to B2, etc. Example syllabi for coursework can be found on the website. Textbook is included with fee and will be provided to students at the first class.

This 12-week class meets in-person on Thursdays from 6:30pm-8pm. Classes meet weekly beginning September 19th and concluding December 12th (13 consecutive weeks, skipping the week of Thanksgiving).    

This class IS intended for Absolute Beginners.

b. Beginner French A1.3 Fast Track with Elsa (in-person, Tuesday/Thursday)

Regular Courses

This class is for students looking to build a foundation in the French language. Classes are progressive. Absolute beginners work their way up from A1.1 progressing through to A1.6. After A1, students move on to A2, to B1, to B2, etc.

This 6-week class meets bi-weekly, in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-8pm. Classes begin Tuesday, September 17th and conclude Thursday, October 24th. This “fast-track” class condenses a typical 12-week semester into just 6-weeks, working at an accelerated pace. This continuing class utilizes the same Alter-Ego textbook, which students will already have from previous class(es). This class begins on page 80.

This class is NOT intended for Absolute Beginners.

This course invites students to develop their analytical French vocabulary by engaging with French and Francophone cultures through a variety of artistic and scientific lenses. Students will learn to articulate nuanced critiques within the realms of literature, visual arts, architecture, music, science and more.

We will learn to decode emotional cues and societal commentary, the fundamentals of expressing and defending a critical stance and enhance listening skills by working with audiovisual material.

We may use parts of the book Civilisation en Dialogues by Odile Grand-Clément, but also online resources.

This 12-week class meets in-person on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-8pm. Classes meet weekly beginning September 17th and concluding December 10th (13 consecutive weeks, skipping the week of Thanksgiving).
