About Us

Founded in 1883, the Alliance Française is an international organization whose goal is to promote French language and culture around the world.

Among the founding members are scientist Louis Pasteur and diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps, author Jules Verne, writer Ernest Renan and publisher Armand Colin.

The Alliance Française has 111 chapters in 45 states.

Here in San Antonio, the Alliance Française meets on a monthly basis and holds an annual Bastille Day celebration.
