In addition to taking classes through the Alliance Française de San Antonio, there are several other ways to study French in the Alamo City:

Conversation Groups – There are three principal groups in San Antonio:
1. French Meetup @ La Madeleine, Huebner Oaks – for those with any level of French speaking proficiency – Northwest San Antonio French, German and Spanish Meetup
2. French Meetup @ La Madeleine at Park North, Blanco & 410 – for those at an intermediate level or higher of French, who can easily carry on a conversation in the language – The San Antonio French Language Meetup
Both are held on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7pm.  Participants are asked to purchase something at the restaurant (soup, salad, etc.) as a courtesy for hosting by La Madeleine.
3. Downtown San Antonio French Language Group – Founded in May 2012, this group meets at noon on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the El Tropicano Hotel, 110 Lexington, San Antonio, TX 78205.  Please see their Facebook group page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/202347740325123/

For those living in the Canyon Lake area, there are two free French conversation groups which meet every Tuesday afternoon at the Tye Preston Memorial Library:  from 1:00-1:50 for beginners, and from 2:00-3:30 for intermediate speakers.  Please see their events calendar to search Upcoming Events for “French Club”.

You may also be interested in participating the Facebook group “Les Francais de San Antonio” and introducing yourself to francophones living in the Alamo City.
